I am a visual artist based in Tokyo, working primarily with still and moving images.

My work is an attempt to estrange the familiar — to take what constantly appears around us, what our eyes have grown accustomed to, and quietly transform it into something else while leaving its form intact.

As for the concept, I leave its definition to you: to the tone of whatever emotion you feel, instinctively and almost wildly, when your eyes encounter my work.

I studied economics, yet I have devoted my life to art perceived through the eye.

While you are looking at my work, there may come a moment when your eyes are hijacked by mine.

Whether that moment is something extraordinary,
or merely another current in the muddy torrent of ordinary life...
